He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Kate Lohr, and daughter, Misi' Mario Lohr, the famous actress of the Globe Theatre, London. After having been m'anv years “on the road.” he took an hotel in Australia, amt some lime ago he came to live in New Zealand. Dr P M'Evedv. a. brother of Er. P. F M’Evedy. of AVellington. hjs passed the final fellowship examination at the London University. He will probably return to New Zealand this year. The following appointments and promotions in the Lunds Department have been confirmed; —Mi’. G. H. Bullard (New Plymouth), to be Commissioner of Crown Lands and chief surveyor, Christchurch; Mr 11. J. Lowe IBlenheim), to lie Commissioner at. New Plymouth; Mr. J. Cook (chief draughtsman. Auckland), to b« Commissioner, Blenheim; Mr. J. I). Manson (Napier), to succeed ’Mr. Cook; Mr A’. I. Blake (North Auckland), to be chief draughtsman, Napier; Mr. D. Macpherson (Otautau), io be chief draughtsman, Invercargill.
