'J' grade October-December shipmoat .£57 10s. per ton; Decoiuber-Fobru-nry shipment, .£56 per ton; JanuaryMarch shipment, .£55 per ton. New Zealand mjirket closcd dull at last quotations (viz., 9pot, highpoints, ,£54 per ton, fair .£52 per ton. December-January shipmfcnt, .£sl 10s. and .£SO per ton respectively), but prices are purely nominal in absence of business.

"Wool—Sales have closed. Attendance large throughout, but competition slow. Conditions have not improved sinco opening. Two (lays' salos have been cancelled, and total ofterings were 51,003 bales instead of 80,000 bales, including 8903 bales of New Zienlnnd. Good medium quality New Zealand wool realised about last sales prices, but finer grades have declined. Coarse neglected. Average closing values were: 60 J s> to fit's (merino), Is. 10(1. to 2s. 7d. per lb.; 50's to 56's (half-bred), Is. sd, to Is. lid. per lb.; 4S's (fine crossbred), Is. 3d. to Is. 5(1. per lb.: 44's to 46's (medium erossbrcds), lid. to Is. 3d. per lb.; 36's to 40's (coarse crossbreds), 10d. to Is. per lb. All prices are more or less nominal, as less tlian third of total offering were sold. At yesterday's free sales 6000 bales of Australian were offered, and met with cowl competition, and practically all were sold at about ten per ocnt. below Government limit."
