Regulations passed last year enabled candidates lor promotion in the Polico Force tn take their examinations in seclions.' one section consisting of the literary and mathematical papers and tin! other section of luw and police and detective duties. Those sections may l>e taken either separately or together at the one sitting. 11l the latter case, it is possible) for a candidate J" secure. a pass, in nne section or in-both. The examinations set last September were conducted oil this basis, with the followina results:—
