THE DEMPSEY-BRENNAN MATCH,

Ne,w York, December 14. The fight between Derapsey and Brennan from beginning to end was quick and vigorous, nnd full of hard givo and take. The first two rounds were even, both men dashing at each other .with body and head blows. The third round favoured Brennan, who drove the champion to the ropes with body jabs, the fourth and fifth rounds were Derapsey s, the champion staggering his opponent with a vicious onslaught.- Both men clinched often, but Dempsoy succeeded in severely punishing Brennnn about the body during the clinches. The sixth ana seventh rounds were slightly in favour of Derapsey. Brennan, however, vigorously opposed him. In the eighth round Brcnunn's mouth was badly cut, and ho was very weary. ' ■ , The ninth, tenth, and eleventh rounds found both men opposing each other staunchly. Dempsey's mouth nnd left ear were badly bleeding. Brennan' appeared very tired, but during the eleventh ..round he seemed to force tho figMing. Dempsey continued to punish Brennan about tho body during clinches. Tho knock-out blow came in mg second minute of the twelfth round when Dempsey landed a right to the heart and followed with the left to tho ribs.
