'By Tolejr&ph.—Sptelal Correspondent. Masterton, December 11. Mr. W. H. Buick presided nt tho monthly meeting of the General Committee, of the Masterton A. and I\ Association this afternoon. The treasurer reported that the- expenditure for the pn?t month had been ,£IBB 6s'. 4d., and the receipts .£387 7s. 3d. The actual debit balance at the back was .42325 10s. Thirty-four new members were elected. The Railway Social Club was granted the uso of tho show grounds for the annual railway picnic on January 9. It wa? decided to' thank Mr. W. CoopeT for his successful efforts in connection with stock grazing at the showgrounds, by which a profit of .£IOO was made. L Mr. I#. Meredith stated _thnt prizes of two guineas and ono guinea would be elven by Mr. C. Bennett and Mr. Tilkington respectively, for a class for polo ponies, and also that Mr. 71. Bnrtnn and Mr. Filkington would crive prizes of two guineas and ono guinea respectively, for a nolo ball competition at the show. The offers were accepted, and it was decided to refer tho competition for the polo horses to the Light. Horso Committee to deal with. Messrs. P. Osselbtrg and D. Sniith emphasised tho need for making the ring events n.j, the show morn attractive, and 'said that a polo ball competition would assist in tin's direction.
