"The Country Girl," which is being presented at the Grand Opera House by the Amateur Operatic Society, is proving a decided success. < The manner in which the leading players handle their difficult parts leaves nothing to be desired, and the comedy loses nothing by tha lack of professional acting. EVERYBODY'S TEBATEE. "Lady Clare," a picturisatfon of I/>rd Tennyson's well-known poem, is being screened at Everybody's Theatre, nndi is pdoving a great draw . The title role is filled by Mary Odette, and Arthur Cleave takes the part of Araps Boulton. There is a splendid supporting programme.

EMPRESS THEATRE. ' The "star" item on the programme at the Empress Theatre is "A Fugitive From Matrimony," which is a good picture, in which many humorous situations Occur. Tho supporting production is episode six of the. serial "Smashing Barriers," •in which there, are many exciting incidents.
