The fortnightly salcß of sheepskins, hides, and tallow were held on Friday by tho various brokers. Messrs. Dalget,y and Co. report that they submitted a modiu* catalogue of all clauses to a -fair attendance of buyers. Competition all round was moßt restricted, and pricea showed a decline on last sales rates. Full-woollcd salted Bheopskina were lower by 9d. to Is., and dry skins wero down id. to Id. per lb. Messrs. Murray, Roberts, and Co. submitted a catalogue of 4400 sheepskinß, and 1100 hides and calfskins. Hheepskiißi hardly maintained laßt sale prices for dry lots, and salted skins wero from 6d. to Is. per Bkin lower. Tho market for hidos showed a lower range of values for all sbrts damaged and slippy hides being very difficult to obtain bids for in somo casca. Calfskins declined 3d. to 4d. per lb. Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report that buyers operated very cautiously at a lower range of prices than experienced at la6t salo for hideß and calfskins. Sound Bheepskins were, if anything, Blightly higher than previous sale, but inferior pelted skins' were not wanted. Tallow was in very poor demand, and on a lower level than last Bales ■ Messrs. As compared with last sale prices, there was an allround decline in Bheepskins. It will require Borne improvement in both the pelt market and tho wool market (and there Is at present no indications of it) to make skins worth anything more than the prices at present being realised.

The New Zealand Farmers' Co-operative Distributing C 0.,, Ltd., report that sonro very good lines of ox and cow hides, co.l* skins .and sheepskins were submitted. Tho market was very dull. Competition was by no means keen; in fact, bidding; wis very slack.
