The trouble was caused by young hot-headed tribesmen who opposed the surrender of their new modern rifles under the termg of tho recent settlement with, the British authorities. Tho Afridi Maliks confess that they aro.unable to control the young tribesmen, while turbulent members of tho Zakkahcl tribes are displaying much activity in raiding with i\ view to thwarting the efforts of their leadors to secure a settlement with tho Indian Government.—Router.
