BOYS' AND GIRLS' COLLEGES. Christmas is now fairly in eight, and at the schools the tense 'examination period is almost at an end, all of which means that the <imiual holidays are at hand. Tlio Wellington Girls' College is to formally break up at the Grand Upcra House at 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, when the prizes and certificates for the year will be presented, and a musical-cum-athletic entertainment will bo given for the benefit of those, in attendance. The Wellington Boys' College is also to hold its breakingt-up ceremony this year in the Grand Opera House. There is insufficient room for all now at tlio college, besides this being an especially memorable year in tlie history of tlio college. The ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. on December 15. Tho State schools of the Wellington Education District, are to close diiwn on Thursday, December l(i, and will not re open again until .Tuesday, February 1.
