CANADIANS AND VIMY RIDGE
Tlio movement for the erection of a fraternal Protestant church at Lens as a momorial to the gallant Canadians who lost their lives on tho Vimy Ridge is rapidly assuming proportions which promise ultimato success. A strong committeo hns been organised, with ; headquarters at Montreal, headed by MajorGeneral Sir John Carson, Canon Shutford, and Brigadier-Goneral J. 6. Ross, all of whom saw service overseas during the period of tho war, while subcommittees have been, established in many other centres throughout Canada. Already considerable sums aro promised in aid of the project, aims at raising 150,000 dollars for the erection of a memorial Protestant church in Lens, for the use of Protestant people in that part of Franco, where the churches were levelled by Canadian shells during tho Gorman occupation. Novemfo 14 had been designated "Vimy Memorial Church Sunday," when collections wore to lx> taken in all Protestant churches throughout Canada in aid of tho fund.
