More than twenty years ago the late Mr. .E. S. Smytlie first approached Conan Doyle ■ with the suggestion that he should visit Australia and New 'ioalnnd., It was not lack of desire to seo the country and its people that made tho famous author refuse. His "Visit to Three Fronts" and his "British Campaign in Franco and Flanders," in seven volumes, will ever remain as a splendid record of British achievement and prowess. Now he has decided to devote the remainder of his lifo to the cause of spiritualism, and the people of Now Zealand, will have tho opportunity of hearing what ho has to say on tho subject daring his visit next week. Ho will arrive in Wellington on. December 10, and will givo two lectures on the 11th and 18th. The box plans will open at tho Bristolon Tuesday morning.
