PRICES SHOW FURTHER, DECLINE. Bv Teleffrarili—Press Association. Christchurch, December 2. It the sheepskin sales to-day the market showed a further weakness, particuTariy for faulty skins and pelts. However, brokers generally npyenred toi have a freer hand in meeting tho market, and some catalogues wero practically cleared, either at auction or subsequently. On nn average the market was down from Id to Id. per lb. from tho preceding sale. Some of the prices obtained were: Bd. per lb. for super merino, 6}d. for sound halfbrod. 5Jd. for faulty halfbred, 55d. for sound threc-quartcrbicd, Mil. for sound crossbred hogget, 34(1. tor faulty crossbred.
LONDON TALLOW SALES. ABrtralian-Ncw Zealand Cable Association (Rec. December 2, 5.5 p.m.) London, December 1. At the tallow sales 1917 casks were offered and 1300 wero sold. Low quality advanced Is. per cwt.;ottasdec lined from Is. to 2s. per cwt.. Stocks total 9041 tons. Imports during Aoycinbor amounted to Gl7l casks, and deliveries to 31G2 casks.
The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received, the following cablegram from their London house, under date December 1:Tallow: We quote present s|x>l; values lor the following descriptions-Fine mutton, M 18s. 6d. per cwt.i good beef, £2 lis. Gd. per cwt.; mixed, £3, 6s. per cwtt, Good demand. . Messrs. Dalgety and Company report having received ,the following cablegram from their London office, under date of December I.—Tallow-1050 casks were offered and 1160 casks sold. Low and inferior descriptions, Is. to 2s. higher. Prices, were lower for other descriptions and quantities Is. to 2s.
