POLITICAL, FINANCIAL, AND INDUSTRIAL CHAOS.
Washington, December 1. The United States is ; triving to prevent a situation that will compel American intervention in Cuba, duo to the chaotic conditions in the political, financial, and industrial affairs of the island. Tho United States Government to considering sending General Crowder, Judge-Advoeate-Genoral of the army, upon a diplomatic mianon to Cuba in the'hope of straightening out the tangled situation. The Cuban moratorium, expiring on December 1, has been extended until December 31. The State Department/ however, does not approve of this method of meeting tho financial situation. Tho Cuban elections were held on November 1, Irat Hie returns are still incomplete.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
