MRS. M'VICAI? TO BE ON CITY
COUNCIL.
As the Miramar Borough is to become amalgamated with Wellington City on January 1, it was necessary at the. meetinn of the Miramar Borough Council on Wednesday night to nominate its representatives on the. City Council for the remaindero of the- term, i.e., up till the general municipal elections on the last Wednesday in April next. The Boroimh Council's choice fell on the Mayor (Mr. S. M. Stone), and Conncillora A. M'Vicar and E. .T. Barnett. Councillor M'Vicar is Mrs. Aiuue M'Vicav, of Miramar, who lias served on mimv local'bodies for a number of•years past! Mrs. M'Vicar, who will be the first lady member, of the City Oonncil. w alto a member of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. The Mayor of Miramar is the manager for Booth and Co.'s timber mill and yards, ami Mr. Barnett. is a real estate agent of V\ nllmgton and Miramar.
