JEWS A GREAT FACTOR IN NATIONAL LIFE. Cape Town, November 29. A manifesto on behalf of the Unionist Party, appeals to all its members to join the now organisation in support of General Smuts unreservedly. General Smuts, speaking nt a reception to the Chief Rabbi of Pretoria, paid a tribute to the conduct of tho Jews in South Africa, where they had proved themselves a great factor in the national life. However successful the Zionist movement proved, the Jews in South Africa should remain there and help to build up_tho country.—Reuter.
