SATURDAY'S SITTING Tho General Assembly of ttie Presbyterian Church of ~ew Zealand sal again on SUturilay morning. TJio Moderator, tho Jiev. C. W. Currie. of Balclutka, was in the ch&lr. Tun Assembly went into commltteo to consider tho question of the appointment of a director of youth work, and after considerable discussion the matter was deferred-for further consideration. Consideration wan given to various recommendations of the -Maori Mission Committee, and tho Assembly accordingly affirmed: (1) That the committee carefully consider the Ealaries at presout paid to our Maori missionaries, arrange for somo immediate relief in fhe most urgent cases, and bring dow&.an amended wale of ealaries for the consideration of next Assembly, (2) That J2GOO bo transferred, if necessary, from tho General Tumi to the Turakina Maori Girls' School Fund. (8) That the committee consider r.he advisability of. securing another male missionary'should one be available, and report to next Assembly. (i) That the attention of ministers and congregations bo called to the need of a growing contribution to Maori Mission Work. (5) That the Assembly records its appreciation of the services rendered by the late Mr. Alexander to tho mission in Nuhafca,' and' expresses its (sympathy with Sisters Jessie and Lilian in the loss of their worthy father. The Biblc-in-fichools Committee reported that it had. nothing to place before the Assembly, which then went on to consider an overture on the subject from the Wcstland Presbytery. The overture, which recommended the Assembly to bring tho question once more into the forefront, was adopted after a brief discussion. The' Assembly will sit again throughout to-day. . " ■,
