MAGISTRATE'S VIEWS ON KEVOEVEES. (Bv TcleeraDh—Press Association.) Auckland, November 20. At the Police Court this morning Mr. Poynton, S.M., fined Hurry Freeman, a steward on the steamer Omana, .£lO for selling a revolver to a lad under tho ago of sixteen years. The Magistrate said he looked upon the unrestricted use of revolvers in a country like this an abominable. "It's simply a disgrace and a. curse to tho country," ho added. "This class of firearm is made only for killing and maiming human beings. It is no practical use for sporting purposes, and the 'tragedies caused by diem make a long list. I would make it an offence for anyone to have possession of them without « license."
