SHOOTING AFFRAY

GUN-PLAY AT CAHTERTON. The Wellington police have ljeen notified that a shooting affray, with serious consequences, occurred at Carterton, on Saturday evening. It is alleged that Frederic Thompson, a labourer, after a drinking bout, shot Antony Itzoska, a labourer, aged 2C, who now lies in n critical condition in the Cireytoiwni Hospital. The Carterton police have arrested Thompson. Rzoska, was found in Thompson's whare, where it is believed the two men went after leaving the township.. Tho shooting was done with a Wibley revolver. The bullet entered Kzoska's neck on the left side, ■ coming out at an angle, and just missing the throat. At a late hour last evening it waß stated that Itzoska still was in a very dangerous condition.
