In the coso in which Alfred Stephen Archer, an undertaker, who hold a Uovornmont contract for military funerals, was charged with obtaining money under false pretences, accused was committed for trial at -,'Jio sitting of (ho Supreme Court in February. Accused was further charged with obtaining.!;!) 17s. Ud. from Madelino Esther Martin, and also .£lO from Jano Best by means of a false protence. • The -Crown Prosecutor explained that the charge arose out of tjie death from influenza, of a seaman named Morris. Accused reserved his dofonce, Md was committed for trial.
