The New Zealand Farmers Co-op. Bistributimr Co., Ltd.. report:-lhe market yesterday for ox and cow hides showed on last sale's prices there being good competition for, hides and calfskSis as well as sheepskins and the attendance of -buyers was laiger than usual. We obtained 12d- per lb/ for os hides arid 173 d. for a good line of. calf being 2Jd. above last sale's top prce- TWs is the first public, sale of S P h™pskins held in Wellington since the close of the valuations under tho ImDorial Government reciuisihon. it was, of course, expected that values lor a 1 grades would be lower,-an sympathywith the serious decline:in wool values .and : also in view of the low values obtained ■ in ?Sydney and Melbourne for all descnptions of sheepskins. Values may be quoted & to 8d! below those obtained under the Imperial commandeer.
