CITY TRAMWAY FARES
Sir,—He the loss on the running ot our trams, will you permit me lo suggest that (luring nil hours,' other tlmn thoso known as "rush hours," one penny only should be charged from Lnmbton Station to Cqurlenay Place, or any city section to or fro. ' Seeing that' the bulk of the population Is in the nily at the time named above. and manv have business in various parts of the city demanding haste, the' "nimble penny" would be gladly spent while the twopenny faro is a barrier. _ ± . „ Manv arriving by country trains walk from Lambton to Grey Street, etc., to save the twopence, who would not hesitate to spend the penny. Sir, I believe there is great power W the humblo coin, 'especially (it this time of high cost of living. Why should not the corporation glfo it n month's }rial? There will be no need for new tickets— thev have them. Let- the word go forth next week, and I feel that the trams in the slack hours r.ill curry a larger number, and thus solve the problem that is wrying the City etc " Missioner.
