LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
ST. JOSEPH'S ORPHANAGE
Sir,—ln reply to Mr. I'etherick's letlor, which appeared in The Dominion yesterday morning, I wish to state once mora that I merely copied his words as reported in the "Hutt Valley Independent" of July 10 last, and concerning my action ho asks your readers to pass their own judgment on my tactics. Will Mr. Petherick kindly, answer the following questions:—
(a) Did ho (Mr. Pcthcrick) make any reforcnco to the Upper Hutt Orphanage at, the Charitable Aid Board meeting, tlip report of which appeared in tho "llutt talley Independent" on July 10? (b) If ho made any allusion to the orphanage on that occasion, what were his exact words? (c) Did Mr. Petherick ask. tho "Hutt Valley Independent" to retract the words attributed to him? (<1) Did tho "Hutt Valley Independent" retract tlic words arid make him an apolozy? This is a matter to be thrashed out between Mr. Petherick an<J the "Hutt Valloy Independent," but as far as I am concerned, I havo no intention of making an apology for one single word [ inserted in tho bazaar programme. —I am., etc., P.
