November 14, 5.5 p.m.) Paris, November 13. leaders of the miners are arranging for a national coal strike to begin on Monday, owing to tho refusal of the coal oiwiera to discuss the latest demand for an increase in wages on all coal fields. Hughes, replying to Mr. Char! ton, who indicated that the coal up- . heaval was the result of the Victorian Government ignoring the Coal Tribunal's award, said he could not dictate to the Victorian Ministry, but ho would speak his mind to Mr. Lawson (Premier of Victoria). 'Mr. HugTfes stirfed that Mr. Baddeley, the minors' president,. had informed him that unless the award was honoured they would cause eveiy mine to be idle.- Mr. Baddeley was not entirely without blame.—Press Assn.
