A SETTLER'S DEATH

Timnru, November 12. An inquest was lield at Fairlio into the death of Jamtd Calder, ft settler at Sherwood Downs, on Thursday. Mrs. Calder stated that her husband wont out at 10 a.m. shooting. As ho did not return to lunch, she wont to look for lnra, and found him half-way through a fence; ho was dead, with a gun beside him. She told a man who was working near. This man and Dr. Matheson, who was sent for, said that clearly there lmd been an accident through the gun catchin" in tho fence. Death wns instantaneous. A vordict wag returned accordingly. _________
