A AUSTRALIAN STATEMENT. Sydney, November 6. Mr. .T. Dnolcy (Chief Secre'.riry), answering question's in the Legislative Assembly in regard to pilfering on the wharves, said that he had boon informed that tho greatest amount of pilfering took placo on deep-sea ships, upon which ninety-five por cent of tho labourers employed were classified as returned soldiers and loyalists.
