It is anticipated .that the ballot will show a good majorly in favour of peace. The strike will be continued only if there is a twothirds majority against acceptance of the proposed terms—Aus.-N.Z, Cable Assn.
(November 3, 9.25 p.m.) London, November 3. The ballot was very close in South Wales, 72,340 votes being for acceptance of the settlement, and 74>,425 against. Yorkshire apparently is largely in favour of acceptance. Nottinghamshire is against. Northumberland is in favour, • though a big majority in the anthracite district is against. Durham is generally against, but big votes favour acceptance. Lancashire is largely against acceptance. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
