ACQUISITION OF REMAINING NATIVE INTERESTS. The Native "washing-up" Bill, which has been introduced in thfa House of Representatives, provides for the acquisition by the Government of the portion ofKapiti lalimd now in the hands of Native owners. The Governor-General may take over the Native interests' by proclamation. Failing 1 any agreement being made as to compensation to be. paid for thb land, every person deprived of tiny estate or interest in any such land shall be entitled to compensation, to bo determined under the Public Works Act, 1908, aa in the case of Native lands taken for a public work. ,
