DENTAL STUDENTS
PROTEST AGAINST A PETITION.

As the outcome of a. recent petition to Parliament, tlio following motion has besn passed by the Otago University Dental Students'-Association: AVo wish to point out the grave injustice that will result if the legislation to enable thirteen mechanics applying lor registration as qualified dentists without undergoing tlio course prescribed by the Act wero . passed. Firstly, it would be unfair to ourselves, GO in number, a proportion of whom omplovcd as dental mechanics, who, in conformity with the Act, are undergoing four years' course in Dunedin; secondly, wo consider it would not safeguard tlio public in that men without adequate surgery training would be allowed to practise."
