JAPANESE EXCLUSION
STATEMENT BY CALIFORNIA LEAGUE. Sacramento, October 27. The Japanese Exclusion League in California has issued a statement declaring that California is scrupulously guarding the treaty and the vested rights of the Japanese, But declines to accord tliem rights not accorded to Americans in. Japan.' The way to ensure a misunderstanding and iiroublo with Jnpan is to permit tho growth here of an alien community, which cannot be assimilated. whoso advantages in economic competition and great birth-rate make race conflict inevitable.—Aus.-N.Z.
