Dr. C. Chilton and Mr. C. A. Ewen have bjen appointed members of the Board of Governors <5f the New Zealand Institute.
Leave of absence was granted to Mr. John Smith at the monthly meeting of l.he Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board yesterday. The chairman regretted that the reports as to Mr. Smith s condition were not encouraging. Mr. Smith is now confined to the Bowen Street Private Hospital.

Mrs 'Annie L, lias been appointed Registrar of Births and Deaths, ami vaccination inspector at Laiwarawara. . , , . « Mr. S. G. Hon re, group clerk at the Garrison Hall,' Buckle, Street, has been truoi*rGcl to the Ciu'istoburch £roup office. Mr. J. H. Harris, assistant group clerk, Buckle Street, will be demobilised at the end of .the present month.
Mr A. Macintosh has accepted wapp6intmei)t to the Executive Committee of the Wellington War lieliof Association.
Mr T. Leo Elliott, of the hardwors firm of T. L.' -Elliott and Co., of mingliani, England, who 16 at present i*. Sydney. is to visit Wellington in about ten days' time.
