ANGLICAN SYNOD RESOLUTIONS.
By Teleeranli— Prpse Association. | Christch'urch, October 2G. i {The proposed amendment of the marriage law was discussed by the Anglican Synod to-night, when the following resolutions were carried, copies'of which are to be forwarded to the Prime Minister and the Canterbury and Westlancl numbers of Parliament"(l) That this Synod deplores the introduction into Parliament of a Bill which seeks to,increase, tlic. facilities for divorce, and urges nil Church people loyally to abide by the Christian standard of marriage as a holy ordinance, binding husband and wife at long as both -shall live; (2) that whereas fto Hon. Sir Francis Bell's proposed amendment to the Marriage Act appears, as it is worde.d, to make it _penal for fiiiv rdWous society to set before it f-Wn members the ideal of marriage - tti'ned in the New Testament, this , bynod respectfully begs that Parliament will not impose this restriction on relijious liberty."
