LABOUR DAY
ATTRACTIONS FOE. THE HOLIDAY. To-day is Labour Day, and in celebration of'the day the trades unions have organised a biff sports meeting at Newtown Park. • The events: will commence at 1130, and will run on through the afternoon, the programme being; .full and varied The celebrations will conclude with-a concert in the Town Hall, in the evening. At the Basin Reserve a cricket match will be played between teams representing the Senior Colts and Junior representatives. The various bowling greens and tennis courts will also be open. At Trcnthaui- the Wellington Racing Club's Spring Meeting will be continued, 'ttiitl some good racing *s anticipated. 'For thoso who desire to spend the day in the country, or across the harbour, special facilities have been provided.
