MARRIAGE LAWS
The following resolution was passed at the quarterly meeting- of the Petons branch of tho Hibernian Australasian Catholic Benefit Society:- , "Tho Sacred Heart Branch No. 533 of tho Hibernian I ÜBtralasian Catholic Benefit Society views with alarm the proposed amendments of the marrings laws aB recommended by the Legislative Council, and now before the Select Committee of the House of Representatives. We wish to enter an emphatic protest against the State interference of religious I'iheities in tho administration of tho liles-,ett Sacrament of l.oly matrimony. Se also congratulate Archbishop OShea on the magnificent stand he has adopted against tho proposed amendment, and pledge our loyal support in any action ho uni> take.
