I'lie report to be submitted to the annual meeting of the $cw Zealand Lawn Tennis Association an 1 liui-atlay evening ext. states, that the activities ot the association were renewed during the rair after having been practically at a, standstill for a number of years. Athliated associations are again taking up tho active administration of district affairs, whilst clubs genciAlly .throughout main centres are overtaxed as regards membership, many, ul.fact, havo (inito a largo waiting list. A\ith the JJavis Cup fixtures at Auckland during the Christinas and • New. Year holidays, the New Zealand championship meeting io immediately follow, and a New South Wales team to visit New Zealand at that time, the coming tennis season will rank umoncst the most important experienced by players.- . Mr, H. Henry Marsh, of Sydney, Dissident of the New South Wales Association. has advised the assoeiati&n that he hopes to bring a strong team from Now Soutli Yuiles, and that he.luis-& ten players who wish •to make the trip.. Negotiations are now in progress regarding itinerary, and it is expected that further details will be.available at the annual meeting. '• • The income and expenditure account fpr the'year ended September 30, 1920, is'incomplete on account of club'membership returns' not being supplied by five associations. The excess of expenditure for'the year sliown-'as .£ls Cs. id, should disappear and. an excess of income- over expenditure for the jfc&r should result when all returns are in. The expenses of administration- .£93 193. are met by the income. totalling ,£lOl 12s. 2d., whilst subscriptions and donations paid or incurred by the association account for the sum of .£22 19s. .Id. No amount has been taken into eorisuleration as income in connection with, tlio match England v. Now Zealand at Wellington; which appears in the linl-nnc'e-sheet on the liabilities side as .£SO 10s. lOd. pending final settlement of the various accounts connected with. the toirnnment. These accounts nro fin the hands of a sub-committeo for attention on requests submitted by the Australian Association. The amount standin? to the credit of the Wilding Memorial Fund has been ear-marked for the. Anthony Wilding Memorial Perpetual Chaljlenge Shield. •
