High Commissioner for Nov Zealand, London:— - ' Meat.—English is in moderate supply; j average prices are:—Beef, Is. Id.; mut- ; ton, Is. 9d.; lamb, 2s. per lb.; but best quality Scotch mutton averaged Is. lid. and lamb'2s. Id. jvr lb. New Zealand mutton and lamb is in good demand at maximum prices. Butter,—Average price, English, is -E23 12s. per cwt. Very limited supply cf Irish, and quotations range up to ,£25 ss. per cwt., equal to, for English 'Is. 2jd., and for Irish is. (id. per lb. v Cheese.—Business in English is dull up to £9 Gs, per cwt. (Is. Sd. per 11).). Spot price for Canadian white is ,£7 18s. to .£8 2s. (Is. sd. to Is. 5Jd. per l ! b.), and for coloured .£8 2s. to £8 Gs. per cwt. (Is. 5Jd. to Is. 53d. per lb.); c.i.f. price, .£7 19s. to £% Is, per cwt. (Is. sd. to Is. Sid. per lb.). Hemp-Manila market is dulfer, buyers holding back. Prices are lower. "J grade is now quoted at .£67 for July-Sep-tember and October-December shipments. Nf.w Zealand market is firmer, prices stiffening, and good business has been done. High-points October-December shipment sold ,£55 to .£56 per ..ton; fair October-December shipment from i.o?. 10s. to £53 15s. n*r ton.
