QUOTED BY MINISTER OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS In the course of his address to the Patriotic Societies'' Conference yesterday' the Minister of Internal Affairs (the Hon. G. J. Anderson) mentioned that some very interesting figures had been compiled by his Department relative to war relief', societies' and the money they had handled. Tho number of societies operating on March 31, 1917, was 507, but this number had increased to 353 by tho following March. In 1919 there was a, drop to 881, and in 1920 the number was reduced to 415.
