EXCHANGE OF TEACHERS
Regulations under the' Education Act in respect to the exchange of New Zealand teachers with teachers from other countries, and for granting leave-of absence to teachers for certain purposes, appear in last evening's Gazette. It is provided that applications for exchange must be received b.y the Director of Education from Now Zealand teaohers not later than June 30 of the year preceding that for which engagement abroad is sought. New Zealand applicants must undertake to Tetura. to the New Zealand education service for a period of at least three years and not more than six applicants will be selected in any one year. Tho decision of the Director regarding tho seleotion of applicants to be final. To the successful applicants will be refunded on their return to New Zealand half the amount of tho passage money but not exceeding 450. Leave is to be granted for one year except in special circumsfanoe when leave may be extended for an Additional year.
