POSITION OF BRITISH DOMINIONS

The Australian Press Association hue telegraphed to Senator Harding the following questions: In the community of nations which you advocate instead of the Versailles League of Nations, what provisions would be made for the representation of tho British Dominions? There Is a tendency among tho Dominions to seek to establish, virtually independent diplomat!: representatives in jjashlngton. Would J'ou encourage •this? Would you, as President, advocate any form of co-operation between Australia and the United States in patrolling and safeguarding the interests of civilisation in tho Pacific?
Senator Harding lias replied through feis secretary as followsi "If I am vested with responsibility in connection with the foreign relations of the United States, ft is my hope and purpose to work out, in concert with the representatives of othor nations and with tho advieo and co-operation of the most, able minds in America, plans and policies which will be just to all peoples and all Governments. I will not attempt now or hereafter to speak for tho American people or the Republican Party, except as lam commissioned by tho electors of tho country, and the elected representatives or party."—iAus.-N.Z.
