The following list, which is not quite complete, a)>ta out the achievements of the Petonc spur fa bodies during the past yr.ar:—Cricket Club: Senior and junior clmmpionships. Rugby: Senior, fourth, and. sixth-class championships. Leaguo: Senior and junior championships. Rowing: Junior fours and tied with Star Boating' Club for first place in Maiden Pairs at tli»> Wellington provincial regatta, also won Prince of Wales Fours at Pctono regatta. Rifle Club: Senior team won Wellington Rifle Union's senior shield, and the club the Wnirarapa chnmpionshlip, Wairarapa short range Bggregntb, champion teams' match at Wairarapa, tyro championship at Dominion mooting, and tyro championship at Weilington district meeting. Bowling Club: Champion of champion rinks and runnersup champion of champion .'fiirs, champion of champion singles. Croquet: Won open championship. Tennis: In tar-club ladies' challenge shield, years in succession. West Snhool: Senior ohornpionship and "Chronicle" Cup. Main School: Samuel Cup. The above is a record of which any town would be proud, and it is for the purpose of expressing in a tangible form their appreciation of tho honour the various tcnmc liar,) brought to I'etone that the citizens are to tender them a complimentary social in to Palace Theatro to-morrow evening. The Mayor (Mr, J. W. M'Ewan) will preside over the jratliering and among those present will be MY T. 51. Wilford, M.P., • and Dre. Thacker and Nowman, M.P.'s. Othor particulars are advertised.
