SNEAK THIEVES AT WORK. Sncalc thieves were at work at tlio Town Hall on Saturday. In several instances when' some of the juvenile, dancers w|;nt to gat their coats ttoey found them missing, and had it not 'been for the kindness of the custodian (Mr. T. W. Leeli*) would have had to face the by no means pleasant elements in their somewhat flimsy fannv dresses. In two instances at least coats Were removed from chain i.i the Wakefield Street corridor. The doors were closed on that fiido of the building when the ball commenced, but wt>re opened later to allow the people free exit# and it is assumed that the thieves obtained entrance to the hall in that way. Two people who were spectators of the dance from tho gallery took the precaution of placing their coats under their chairs, but when they went to get them they were gone. One lady had an extraordinary pwee of good lucK. A iiurso containing an amount of silver was picked up in the Wakefield Street corridor by one of the guests,. The owners name happened to be inec-ibed on some of the rmpers in the puree, and so it Vraa restored to her. The owner of tho puree had not been in that part of the build , ins where the purse was found, which would indicate that it had heen from herbag and dropped accidentally by'tho tMof. ;
