RAPID ADVANCE IN COST OF BUILDING. This speed at which the cost of buildins; is advancing in Wellington is being demonstrated in the liveliest manner to the Housing Committee of the Wellington City Council, which is enßaged 011 a liome-buildintf sch'pme at Northland. Only some six weeks ago the council completed a four and a fire-roomed house on tills block. The cost of the latter was approximately JEUSO. which was considered a nrttty tall figure. Since then another five-roomed cottage has been completed, hut its cost to the council has, it is understood, been over. .£I7OO.
