ISLAND BAY SURF CLUB

: $ ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Island Bay Surf and Life-Saving Club was held on Tuesday, there being about fifty members in attendance. The president of the club, Colonel Hughes, 0J1.G., D.5.0., presided. The balance-sheet was presented, showing a credit balance to tho club. Colonel Hughes was re-elected president; Messrs. J. P. Luke. M.P., C.M.G., H. A. Wright, M.P., H. llallinger, J. O. Shorland, C. C. Odlin, H. E. H. Bird. H. Gilberd, A. E. Odlin, H. P. Olarko, M. Beok. H. Hansen, L. Brabin, A. 6. Collins, M. Kedican, and G. S. Hill, were reelected vice-presidents; Colonel Mitchell. M.P., D.5.0., and. Mr. P. T. Hill also being elected to this office. The following officers wero also elected:— Captain, Mr. W. H. Coc; vice-captain, Mr. J. D. O'Keef; lady superintendent, Miss R. Skinner; treasurer. Mr. H. Hind; secretary, Mr. W, H. Barnard; hon. auditor, Mr. G. Beckett; committee, MeEdames D. Hall and M. Oade. Messrs. C. Mayall, G. Spriggins. T. P. Gill. At the conclusion, a hearty vote of thanks'was passed to the outgoing committee, especially to tho captain, Mr. G. 6priggins, the secretary. Mr. T. P. Gill, and tho lady superintendent, Mrs. D. Hall, for tho splendid manner in which they had worked for the welfare of tho club during their term of ofilce.
