DEARER' BREAD FEARED. Sydney, Septembor 29. Tho Government of New South Wales is in a quandary over tho world's parity for wheat. If tho growers receive the full benefit of overseas prices, the Home market will suffer, and tlio price of bread will increase. Country and Labour members'are in favour of the world but city members fear the increase. Mr. Bagnall (Nationalist) has suggested that the Government should emulate tho action of tho Britifeh Government and make up' the difference between the Home prico and tho world's parity, thus preventing an increiiso in the price of bread without injuring the fanners. Tho Government is considering the position — tress Assn. AREA UNDER WHEAT IN VICTORIA. Melbourne, September 29. Tin Government Statistician estimates that the area under wheat in tile present season shows an increase of half a million acres over that of last season. The total area sown is 8,585,000 acres, which is nearly two million acros liehind the record season of 1915-16. —Pr«ss Assn.
