Accordttig to the "Evening Standard," tho police authorities are nwaro of the existence of a widespread Sinn Fein plot in London, involving certain well-known people. Nearly a hundred are implicated. The "Daily Mail" states that Scotland Yard has discovered a widespread Sinn Fein plot in London, and that extraordinary safeguards aro being instituted. The "Standard" asserts that hundrods aro implicated, including well-known people. It was intended that action should follow the death of M'Swiney.—• United Service. HUNGER-STRIKERS IN CORK CONDITION DUE TO NUNS' SKILFUL NUESING. London, September 28. A special correspondent of tho "Daily Mail" visited tho nunger-strikors in the Cork gaol. The authorities, he states, are leaving them solely under tho care of nuns, and no officials or strangers are admitted, since the prisoners have objected to their attentions. Each man id in a separate ward. The Government ordered that no expense should be spared, and every possible arrangoment is made for their comfort. Tho prison doctor declares that tho skilful nursing, of the I nuns is the only explanation of tho extraordinary condition of tho hunger strikers, somo of whom may last for months. Tho doctors assert that experienco with these patients shows that the body has reservfc energy sufficient to sustjin life for an indeterminate period liko that of a hibernating animal.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. BARRACKS ATTACKED AND GUNS j STOLEN SINN FEINEIiS STAET FURTHER RIOTING IN BELFAST. (Rec. Septomber 29, 7.25 p.m.) London, September 28. While a detachment of fifty of the Seventeenth Lancers wero exercising their horses in Mallow, County Cork, armed men in lorries attacked the barraclt9 and looted rifles, ammunition, and a mnohine-gun. One of the Lancors. wearing only a shirt and pants, jumped on a barebacked horse, and recalled hib comrades. AVhen tho Lancers returned tho raiders had gono. Sinn Feiners in Belfast last night attacked shipyard workers returning home with showera of stones and revolver shots, causing them to flee for thoir lives. Lator, rioting occurrod in several streets, twenty persons being injured, several with bullet wounds. Military bayonet charges dispersed the rioters.—Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn. PROPOSED INQUIRY" IN AMERICA WITNESSES FROM IRELAND ASKED FOR. New York, September 28. An American "Committee of One Hundred on Ireland" asks that four Irish Lord Mayors and others shall go to tho United States to testify at hearings to be held in Washington. A list of names has been sent to the British Ambassador with the request that tho Government should' not obstruct their appearanco.
