FRESH OFFENSIVE MOVEMENT BY POLES CAPTURE OF GRODNO REPORTED By Telegraph-Press Aaaociation-Oopyrlirlit London, September 27. It is reported from Warsaw that the Poles have captured Grodno, with many prisoners and much ivar material. Grodno is understood to bo under the protection of tho League of Nations. It is pointed out that there will bo only another month of campaigning before the winter stops tho operations. The new move is said to be preparatory to an otfensivo against the Red army concentrated on the Minsk-Lida- sector, as, unless its destruction is achieved before the winter, the forces will be used to crush Wrang'el, leaving tho Bolsheviks freo to attempt to overrun Poland in Hie spring.—Reuter. A Polish'communique claims that by a counter-attack against tlie Bolsheviks and Lithuanians on September 24 and 25, tho Poles occupied Kopoiova and Sejcy, capturing a ' thousand prisoners, three batteries of artillery, and 207 machineguns. A Renter, message from London states that His Majesty tho King has congratulated M. Millerund on. his election as President of France. The King states that lie is convinced that Franco-Bri-tish friendship will be maintained and strengthened during M. Millorand's Presidency. A mossage from London states that Lord Dudley's Witley estate, in Worcestershire, has been subdivided into 1!)3 lots and practically the wholo eold to tho existing tonautg, despite angry protests by intending outside buyers, as each lot waa withdrawn when tho roserve was reached. The purchasere of Witley Court propose to convert it into an hotel. The Presbyterian Assembly, sitting in Sydney, defeated, by 112 votes to 62, an amendment to defer further action in regard to tho Union of the Churches for two years. In deciding to defer action towards organic union for two years, tho_ General Assembly resolved that the Union Committee should be instructed in the meantime _to continue negotiations for encouraging inter-church relationship between the negotiating bodies.
