ALLEGED FOKGEE.Y AT/NAPIER. Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., disposed of the police busineßs at the Magistrate s Court yesterday moraine. . Norman M'Leod Gunn was charged that mi February 19. 1919. at Naoier. he forged the name of F. It. Bedford to a Defence Department clothing warrant. In asking that the accused be remanded to jjppear at Nanier on October 4. Chief Detective Ward said that this was one of a 'erieß of charges that Gunn would nave to answer at Nanier. The remand was granted. , Harry Anderson was charged that on July 5.' 1919. at Hastings he dole a motorcar, 1i gallon? benzine, a hammer, a pair of pliers, and screw-driver, value £501 3s. 9d., tho property of James' O'Neill. The Chief Detectivo said that the case would ultimately be dealt with in Hastings.;.but he had a small matter that he wished cleared ud here, and aßked for a. remand until Friday, which was granted. On Saturday last Daniel Pcllow. a member of the crew of the s.s. Canadian Prospector, while drunk, caused a disturbance at the gangway of that vessel, and when the chief officer, Mr. E. Perry, remonstrated with him he assaulted the offlenr. For this he wns fined £5. in default one month's imprisonment. For using obscene language on tho' Clyde Quay Wharf he was fined £3. John Henry Green, a member of the crew of the s.s. Port Alma, was ordered to forfeit two days' pay for being absent from thot vessel without leave. On Sunday John J. Buckley was drunk in Bucklo Street, and was also carrying a bottle' of whisky in his pocket. When arrested he deliberately smashed the bottle in the Btrcet. He was charged with throwing glass in the street to the danger of cyclists, and was fined 10s., and for being drunk (his second offence) ho was fined 10s. John Francis Woostcr was fined 10s. for nnmmlttln? a' teeaeh of his. prohibition order, and 20s. for refusing to ouil the Cambridge Hotel -when . rcauoßtod to do EO. Convicted for the fifth time of drunkenness, John Woolridge was fined 5b., and for committing a breach of his prohibition order .he was fiued 20s.
