VESSEL TO BE PAID OPF. The trouble between the firemen and the stewards of the steamer Moana over the chief cook remains unsettled, and yesterday tlie Union Company announced that the vessel will be paid off to-day. Her trip to Sydney has been cancelled. The next Union Company vessel to leave Wellington for Sydney will be the Manuka, which is to relieve the Moornki on October 7. The Moana s cargo is being taken by the Tarawera today, while ><ome of her pasfensers have secured berths aboard the Uliniaroa, sailing on Thursday.
