"HOLY MATRIMONY"
Sir,—Permit the ignorant laity to ask our Anglican prelate whero he finds tho authority to declare marriage a "sacrament." God never intimated it, and most certainly Christ nover even hintod at such a conception of it. He confined Himself to adding to the joviality of the marriage festival by supplying the guests with the wine (unalcoholio) as it is still used on these occasions by the Jewish nation. If the Prayer Book is the only authority, why, it only contains the opinions of men—and those certainly not of very brilliant intellect.—l am, etc., E.
