THE PRINCE IN THE WEST INDIES
A VISIT TO GRENADA. (Roc. September 2G, 5.5 p.m.) St. George, Grenada, September 25. The Prince of Wales arrived in H.M.S, Renown at Grenada, tho most picturesque of all the West Indian Islands, to-day. He was welcomed by the Governor (Sir George JJaddon Smith), tho Executive, Legislative Councillors, and heads of tho churches. The Prince visited Lake Grand Etang (2000 feet high), which formerly was the sceno of fearsome negro «aorificial celebrations, and also was the scene of a massacro of British inhabitants by negro felons and a. band of insurrectionists in 1795. Now under British rule, the whole island enjoys peace and prosperity, although the negro population exhibits some unrest, conforming to the world-wide manifestations of discontent among the workers. Tho Prince holds a reception aboard tho Renown tonight, and sails at daybreak for St. Lucia—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
