CAPTURE OF BOKHARA
BATTLE WON AND LOST SEVERAL TIMES. Delhi, September U, Details available of the capture of the city of Bokhara by tho Bolsheviks show that the Emir of Bokhara had wisely concentrated his troops, wiose resistance completely surprised the Bolsheviks. The battle for the city swayed to and fro, both 6ides losing heavily; and tho position was won and lost again and again. The Red command was compelled to draw on all its reserves before the city was captured, and the Emir was forced to fly to the Afghan frontier with tho remnants of his army. After the capture, Bokhara was given over to the troops to loot, and the wealth of the bazaars fell tofchei Red soldiery. The Bolshyiks are now oxpeoted in Northern Persia and Afghanistan—Router,
BRITISH FORCE WITHDRAWN FROM MESHED. (Rec. September 26, 5.5 p.m;) Delhi, September 25. The British force in Meshed, Persia, is being withdrawn. Its rolo was to prevent violation of the Persian frontier by Bolsheviks, but since the fall of Krasnovodak in February tho force has been idle.
